- 2 Tbs margarine or butter
- 4 Skinless, boneless chicken breast halves ( about 1 pound)
- 1/2 package puff pastry sheet
- 1 egg, beaten
- one tablespoon water
- one container (4 ounce) herbed cream cheese spread
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley.
Here are now the few steps you will need to follow to make the Parsley Chicken en Croute
First, In a medium skillet over medium-high heat, let the margarine or butter melt. Season your chicken with salt and pepper if desired. Add the chicken breasts and cook until browned. Remove the chicken breasts from the skillet. Cover and refrigerate for about 15 minutes.
Preheat your oven to 400 °F ( 205°C). Mix egg and water and set aside.
Unfold your dough on a lightly floured surface. Roll into a 14 inch square ( 35 centimetre square) and cut into 4 squares. Spread about 2 Tablespoons of the cheese spread in center of each square. Sprinkle with 1 tablespoon parsley and top with the cooled chicken breast.
Brush the edges of the squares with egg mixture. Fold each corner to center of top of the chicken and seal the edges.
At the end
Place, seam-side down on a baking sheet. Brush with egg mixture. Bake for around 25 minutes or until golden brown. Enjoy with some pasta or grilled vegetables or like here just with a green salad.
