These little Morello Cherry Crèmes Brûlées are the perfect excuse to enjoy the dessert when we know crème brûlée so well! but not necessarily with Morello cherries. So get to your stove because and you won’t be disappointed.
First, here is the list of the different ingredients you will need to prepare these Morello cherry Crèmes Brûlées that serves 4 people
- 4 beautiful egg yolks
- 200 ml or 1 cup whipping cream
- 50 ml or a small 1/4 cup milk
- 30g or 2 Tbsp caster sugar
- 1/2 vanilla pod and 50 g or 3 1/2 Tbsp brown sugar
- 24 Morello cherries, fresh or in syrup, optional
Now, here are the few steps you will have to follow to make the Crèmes Brûlées with Morello cherries with a preparation of about 15 minutes and a cooking time of 1 hour
Scrape the vanilla from your pod over the powdered sugar. Add this sugar to your egg yolks and mix without whitening. Preheat your oven to 160°C or 325°F.
Bring the cream and milk mixture to a boil and add it slowly to your egg/sugar mixture. Arrange six sponged or well-drained Morello cherries in each mold.
Pour the mixture on top and cook in your oven for 1 hour. After cooking, leave to cool then put in the fridge.
After a couple of hours, sprinkle the brown sugar on your cold Crèmes Brûlées and caramelize quickly under the grill of your oven or better, with a small blowtorch and serve.
