- 1 kg or 2.2 lb potatoes, peeled
- 2 litres or 8 cups water + 3/4 oz salt
- 100 ml or 3.4 oz milk
- 200 g or 3/4 cups cold butter
Now, here are the few steps you will need to follow to make the Potato Purée
Put the potatoes, water and salt in a large saucepan and bring to the boil. Reduce the heat and let gently simmer for 30 minutes or until the potatoes are soft. Strain the cooked potatoes, then pass them through a potato sieve or mash them with a potato masher.
In a mixing bowl, mix together the potatoes, the milk and the cold butter with the use of a large whisk. Salt to taste and serve with the meat or fish of your choice.
